SimLink

Give your AI agents the power to send & receive SMS through your phone.

⬇ Download the Android app (.apk)

Android only · sideloaded · ~18 MB. iOS can't send SMS, so there's no iOS app.

Use a spare phone. Install this on an old/secondary Android device with a prepaid SIM — not the personal phone you use every day. It's a sideloaded app and hasn't been tested across every phone, so treat it as experimental.
  1. 1

Install on a spare Android phone

Open the downloaded .apk and tap Install. If Android warns about installing from an unknown source, allow it for your browser or Files app, then continue.

  2. 2

    Open SimLink & sign in

Create your account (or sign in) right in the app.

  3. 3

Connect your phone & grant SMS permission

Tap “Connect phone” and allow SMS + phone permissions so SimLink can text on your behalf. If Android refuses, see the box below.

  4. 4

Share a SIM & connect an agent

Pick the SIM to share, create a token, and paste the MCP URL into ChatGPT, Claude, or any agent.

Saw “App was denied access to SMS”?

Android treats SMS as a restricted permission and auto-blocks it for sideloaded apps (Xiaomi/MIUI, Samsung and Android 13+ are the strictest). You have to grant it by hand — it can take some hunting:

  1. Open Settings → Apps → SimLink → Permissions → SMS and set it to Allow.
  2. On Android 13+, if SMS is greyed out, open the app's info page, tap the â‹® menu (top-right) and choose “Allow restricted settings” first.
  3. On Xiaomi/MIUI it's buried deeper — try Settings → Apps → Manage apps → SimLink → Permissions, and also check Autostart / Other permissions. Expect some clicking around.

Then reopen SimLink and sign in again.

Heads up: sending automated texts from a personal SIM can be rate-limited by your carrier. Keep volumes low. Texts are sent from your number.
